Daisy Longshanks was always "Momma" to everyone but her son Oswald who called her "Mum". "Sit you down by the fire," she would say, "and I'll fetch you a hearty Lord-bless-you"...

Widow of the late Patrick Longshanks, she basically adopted her village as an extended family. Her son, the local Vicar, was her helpmate in keeping hope alive during the crushing oppression of Jadis.

She was later appointed a Dame to the Order of the Lion and granted a pension by the Crown. She was most proud, however, of the title "Momma" that she carried for the rest of her life.
