My name is Mountebank Beaverlee, which was--and is--an odd name. Which is why I did--and do--go by Mountie....

Mountebank and his brother Samuel were born to Horace and Clara Beaverlee. Only Mountie survived infancy.

Unlike Buck and Bramble, Mountie did not follow in his father's tracks. He succeeded Faun Chios as Vicar of Byron and later became Senior Mage Noviate of Narnia. He had a childhood sweetheart but married his work instead.

Mountie's affectionate accounts of growing up in Byron is our main source of information about the heart and soul of the riverbank. His books "Byron on Wells" and "The Ties That Bind" are shelved in the Royal Library.
