Buckthorn was the only child of Oakley and Jasmine Badger. He was most notorious as the youngest Herald in Red ever to make the Remembrance Day run.

Softspoken and highly principled, he nonetheless found himself in a number of mishaps due to his plucky best friend Bramble. He survived a near-drowning, snakebite and the spooks of the Southern Marsh only to succumb to the charms of his lovely friend Sophie. They have a daughter Rosie and a son Mountebank. Buck succeeded his father as senior partner of Badger, Carson and Diggins. He enjoys fishing, lawn bowling, and skollers.
